Come join us for a Penguin video shoot if you're in town!

We're doing a Penguin video shoot on Friday (Nov. 21) at the Onyx Theatre and you're invited! Please also invite family and friends. We'd love to have a big turnout for the shoot.

We'll be filming Luke Jermay doing a formal 40 minute mindreading show. It'll be a fun show. He really will read your mind. Pizza and drinks will be provided.

The formal show starts at 5pm Friday (Nov 21). Feel free to come a little early if you want to see some close-up mentalism. We'll be filming from 3pm onward. The Onyx Theatre is on Sahara at Commercial Center.

Jeff McBride's Wonderground

I had the pleasure of seeing Jeff McBride's new show Wonderground in Las Vegas last week.

The thing that strikes me about McBride is that he's the most naturally magical person I've ever seen on stage.

This character trait is McBride's biggest strength, and the show shines when McBride is in character and our imaginations are allowed to run wild. The audience slips into a dream world
where cares are forgotten and magic happens. These moments are pure and delightful. A joy to watch. A refuge from the world.

After the show the venue turns into a nightclub where many of Las Vegas' hottest magic young acts are featured. Penguin favorites Tyas Frantz and Paul Draper are regular features. The night I was there Luke Jermay made a special guest appearance.

The show is a rare treat. Worth the trip to Las Vegas.

Pushing toward the limits of what is possible.

Magicians have a long history of pushing toward the edges.

For the last five years, Oz Pearlman has been on an epic journey to push his body toward the limits of what's possible.

Oz's latest challenge was an obscure race known to extremists as the Chicago 50 Miler. For the third year in a row, Oz won the race.

There was no media coverage.
There was no hype.

Just a man and a mind, in a battle to do what many would consider impossible.

What's next for Oz? It's tough to say. Public or private. High drama or simple endurance. The only thing we can say for sure is that there will be a challenge. And Oz will rise to meet it.

That's who he is. A real magician. A man who inspires through his acts.

Alvo's blog

Just read a post on Alvo's blog, and I had to pass along a link. It's called Wonder.
